Title: A Confession of Complaint

Author: Randy Tomko

The Israelites might have experienced the most epic rescue story ever, but they couldn’t seem to help themselves from complaining along the way.

They were given so much…you and I have been given so much! We’ve been forgiven our sins through God’s gift of grace…we are promised a future in eternity!

Whatever else happens to us, we’ve got nothing to complain about…

Oh, to grace how great a debtorDaily I’m constrained to beLet Thy goodness like a fetterBind my wandering heart to Thee
Prone to wander, Lord I feel itProne to leave the God I loveHere’s my heart, oh take and seal itSeal it for Thy courts above
Here’s my heartOh take and seal itSeal it for Thy courts above
– from “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” (18th century, Robert Robinson)

The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you,[a]not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.

2 Peter 3:9 (ESV)
