When we acknowledge our sin, when we hear the voice of God, then we can repent and draw near to Him. Sin has done such great damage in the world, in our lives, that there needs to be a once-and-for-all redemption that only comes through Jesus Christ and the sacrifice of His life on the cross. That monumental act enables us to come before the Lord in relationship, in communion, in a restored relationship that we could never earn on our own.
22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.
