We so often make the mistake that we think following Jesus means everything in our lives will go smoothly and be problem-free. But that is not what the Bible teaches us!

When we look at all the lives of those chronicled in Biblical history, we see a different reality. That reality involves hardship, sin, failure, and consequences.

But throughout all the trials in all the lives of God’s people, we also see that His provision comes through – even in the most challenging situations! And those people…their lives are forever changed by persevering through adversity.

51 Joseph named his firstbornManasseh[e] and said, “It is because God has made me forget all my trouble and all my father’s household.” 52 The second son he named Ephraim[f] and said, “It is because God has made me fruitful in the land of my suffering.”

Genesis 41:51-52 (NIV)
