Title: In Jesus’ Name
Series: Handle With Care
Author: Randy Tomko

Is prayer for us a way of self comfort? A way of trying to have God do what we want him to do?  As long as we say it “in Jesus’ name,” well…

The phrase “in Jesus’ name” is not a magical command we can attach to all our prayers to ensure they come about. Instead, it’s meant to exhort us to align our thoughts with Christ, our desires with the desires of the Lord, to submit to His will being done.

12 “Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father. 13 Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask me[a] anything in my name, I will do it.
