A calling from God to pioneer a new work often comes as a divinely-sent burden that propels you into action. In other words, God speaks. We move. Kingdom work gets done.
For Pastor Chris Brooks and Evangel Ministries, this burden came when William Tyndale College closed in December 2004, leaving metro Detroit with a gaping vacuum of Christian education. They were inspired to pioneer a ministry that would provide high-quality theological training that was both affordable and accessible.
The result of that inspiration was Detroit Bible Institute (DBI).
Now firmly established in Detroit, DBI also now offers a suburban campus−Sterling Heights−right here at Rockpointe Community Church. The goal is to reach even more believers with high-quality biblical teaching.
